Smoothies for Busy People

Me and Anj (sis-in-law) love smoothies for breakfast. We're usually in a rush to get out the door in the morning so a lot of times, we just grab a yogurt and a piece of fruit...but we'd really rather have a smoothie.

We decided to take about 45 minutes on a Sunday evening and cut up all of the fruit and assemble pre-made yogurt packets that we can stick in the freezer. In the morning, we just have to add a little yogurt and almond milk and blend!

To be perfect about it, it would be best to spread the fruit evenly on a cookie sheet and freeze before assembling. That way, they don't freeze together in one big clump. But who has time for all that? We decided to just deal with the clump.

What's in your smoothies?

For 2 Smoothies we use:

4 Cups Fruit (pictured: strawberries, peaches, mango, pineapple)
2 Tbs Coconut Oil (Unrefined, Raw)
2 Tbs Flax Seed (Can grind into Flax Meal)
2 Scoops Whey Protein Powder

Add 1/2 Cup Yogurt and Almond Milk/Water/Goat Milk/Juice/ or liquid of choice to get a good smooth smoothie.

We've made ALL kinds of smoothies....chia seed, greens powder, fresh juice juiced, coconut milk/water, kefir...you name it. This is the simplest and quickest recipe we've settled on without losing out on some great nutrition.
